Well-Trained Staff

Our staffing ratio is 5:1 in the center.  Supporting our activity assistants are:

WE HELP FAMILIES STAY TOGETHER BY PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN A SECURE AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR OLDER ADULTS WITH HEALTH RELATED NEEDS.

We also provide caregiver respite and support. SarahCare offers courteous and conscientious adult day care, escorted transportation from your home to our center and back home again. We have a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Alzheimer’s Facilitator on staff.

We recognize that each individual is a unique person having individual needs and concerns. We offer a continuum of care that includes home care, physicians, therapists, and state agencies.

Our center works with each participant in designing a person-centered care plan.  This is achieved by assessing the participant, speaking with their family and incorporating the staff into this plan.

Our programs are based on daily activity and social interaction. Participants can choose from a variety of activities each day.

We are not a feeder program for a nursing home. Our goal is to support the caregiver and the participant who wish to enjoy ageing at home.

A TYPICAL DAY AT SARAHCARE OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY

Breakfast  – Participants who arrive early may enjoy a light breakfast before relaxing into the day.  We open at 6:30 AM as a service to caregivers who start their days early.

Strength Building – Every day begins with strength  building to improve balance and general muscle tone, and maintain the ability to position (or to help more) themselves at home.

Multi-Track Activities & Special Programs– Participants can choose from among several activities throughout the morning and afternoon.  Our goal is to have at least two activities occurring simultaneously through most of the day.

Fresh, Hot Meals – Most our meals are cooked in our own kitchen in a program supervised by a registered dietician.  Our meals have a home-cooked flavor that our participants really appreciate.

Quiet Time – Many participants enjoy quiet time or a nap after lunch. Our program encourages participants to be active during most of the day.  As a result, they are more likely to sleep through the night.
